Why Winnipeg?
What to do in Winnipeg?
Although Winnipeg has quite a reputation for cold weather...we also have a beautiful history and rich culture. Truthfully, I love my home town and find it filled with friendly and relaxed people. Below I have listed some of my favorite things to do here in town including great places to eat! For great ideas on what to do in Winnipeg you can visit www.destinationwinnipeg.ca which will tell you almost everything you need to know about the 'Peg! One of the more unique facts about Winnipeg is the importance of the city for trade and travel at the turn of the century. The city blossomed and contains some of the most beautiful structures I have seen such as the historic Fort Garry Hotel which you see pictured below.
Cool place to visit at The Forks
During the summer it's beautiful and is the place where the rivers meet. Lots of unique shops, restaurants and even boat rides.
Enjoy the Outdoors at Assiniboine Park
One of my favorite places to go is Assiniboine Park. It is a beautiful park filled with sculpture, land and a variety of attractions and events. The Leo Mol Sculptures are a must see as is the Conservatory!
Great Italian at Mona Lisa's
Mona LIsa's is a fantastic restaurant and is family owned. It's unique wine bar and great food are definite crowd pleasers! Say hi to Joe for me if you stop by!
Treat yourself at Ten Spa
Located on the 10th floor of the historic Fort Garry Hotel in Downtown Winnipeg this spa is world class and offers treatments that are beyond compare.
For shopping try Polo Park Shopping Center
You'll find all your clothing and department stores here at Polo Park which is just minutes by vehicle from the studio and the hotel. Within the mall is a Moxie's and a food court. Surrounding the mall you can find Tony Roma's, Joey's, Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Earls to name a few!
